THE DRYES
— ACCLAIMED HUSBAND-WIFE COUNTRY DUO —
ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE
“MUD ROOM”
DUE OCTOBER 16
ARRIVING AS THE DUO CONTINUES TO HONOR DOLLY PARTON’S LEGACY WITH FEATURED SPOTS IN THREADS: MY SONGS IN SYMPHONY AND THE SONGTELLER HOTEL
NASHVILLE, TN (September 21, 2026) — In 2018, Rolling Stone Country praised them on their debut single, NBC has said they “live for artists like The Dryes.” TODAY has called them a “promising new country duo.” Now, The Dryes — the husband-and-wife country duo who’ve spent the last few years quietly becoming one of country music’s most trusted new voices — are back with their first piece of new music in over a year. The pair will release “Mud Room,” a tender new anthem about unloading life’s regrets at heaven’s door, on Friday, October 16.
Where their catalog has often found The Dryes processing grief and leaning into hope, “Mud Room” takes that emotional honesty a step further, imagining heaven itself with a place to set down the weight we carry through life.
“‘Mud Room’ is about the baggage we all carry in life and the idea of heaven having a mud room to unload all the regrets, mistakes and moments we aren’t proud of,” share The Dryes. “We hope this song meets people where they are in life and allows them to take a breath and know that God loves us in all of our imperfections.”
The single arrives at a pivotal moment for The Dryes, who are entering a major new chapter of growth with 18.4M+ global streams and 103K+ followers across Instagram and TikTok. The duo continue as featured artists in Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony — a production co-produced by Parton herself — with fall dates and additional performances being added into 2027. The Dryes will also be part of the grand opening week of Dolly Parton’s new SongTeller Hotel in Nashville, debuting a new trio show at Parton’s Live on Sept. 27, Oct. 2 and 3.

ABOUT THE DRYES:
If there was ever a time that country music needed a duo like The Dryes, it’s now. Since launching their career in 2018, The Dryes — husband and wife Derek and Katelyn — have caught the attention of USA Today, Rolling Stone, PEOPLE, American Songwriter and Billboard, gaining thousands of new fans and followers along the way. Recognized by Country Living as “the new hot country duo to watch,” and following their premiere on Season 22 of NBC’s “The Voice,” The Dryes have accumulated over 18 million global streams. Their sassy single “Dolly Would” and their alluring, soulful track “House on Fire” both reached #1 on CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown.
In addition to their touring schedule, the pair has hit the road with Jo Dee Messina as direct support on her national “Heads Carolina, Tails California” Tour, made their debuts at CMA Fest and the Carolina Country Music Festival in front of a crowd of 35K fans, and secured a summer partnership with Cheerwine, with Derek landing a spot as an official PRS Guitars artist. Their music catalog has been featured on Netflix and ABC shows, and their viral summer single “Daydrinkin’” charted on iTunes on release day and has drawn over 6 million views across socials. With an exciting future at play, there is no stopping this duo.
