CLASSIC COUNTRY ARTIST
EFFY HARVARD
PRAISES THE COWBOY SPECIES ON NEW SINGLE
“COWBOY SEASON”
OUT TODAY

NASHVILLE, TN (March 20, 2026) — Blending country, blues, and Americana, Effy Harvard, the Texas-born singer with a timeless soul, describes her first release of 2026, “Cowboy Season,” as a “sultry, bouncy anthem praising the cowboy species.” Continuing to revive the golden age of honky-tonk, the track was recorded on vintage equipment in Nashville and delivers a warm, ‘60s-inspired sound that carries listeners through a love story that begins in a bar and ends in the back of a Chevy.

Born and raised in Texas, Effy grew up surrounded by music and adventure. Her father and uncle, both musicians, often filled local saloons and family gatherings with melodies that shaped her early love for country. She’s long been inspired by the golden era of the ‘50s, from pedal steel and raw chord progressions to the glamour of Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth, blending that visual and sonic aesthetic into her modern artistry.

In 2025, Effy released “Answering Machine” and “Without You Loving Me,” further defining her unique sound. Anchored by soulful pedal steel, lively guitar, and swirling fiddle, “Answering Machine” bursts with high-energy, honky-tonk flair — perfect for yelling along in your car or two-stepping at a dive bar — while “Without You Loving Me” is a poignant reflection on unrequited love. Cowgirl Magazine praised Effy’s “soulful voice, authentic storytelling, and unwavering passion,” noting that she is “breathing new life into honky-tonk while staying true to its roots.”

Beyond her music, Effy’s songwriting is deeply personal, drawing on life experiences such as bizarre dating tales and heartbreaks, while creating songs that allow listeners to reflect and heal. A pivotal moment in her journey came when her father, in a coma, awoke as she and her sister played his favorite song, “Carolina in My Mind” by James Taylor, an experience that reinforced music’s power as a bridge between generations.

Now based in Austin, Effy fuses classic country, ‘60s and ‘70s folk and rock, and modern sensibilities into a timeless, emotionally honest sound. Drawing inspiration from legends like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Chuck Berry, and Sam Cooke, she delivers everything from rollicking honky-tonk shuffles to tear-in-your-beer ballads — proving that real country music never goes out of style. “Music has always been a way for me to work through my feelings, and if my songs can create that same space for others, then I am fulfilling my purpose,” she notes.
