NASHVILLE, TN (March 13, 2026) — Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Irish-American singer-songwriter Alexandra King raises a toast to Irish pub culture with her new single, “Bottoms Up,” out today. Co-written with Evan Sieling, the rollicking track channels the spirit of a classic drinking song — made for sing-alongs — while capturing the warmth, camaraderie, and storytelling traditions of the pubs that shaped King’s upbringing.
Featuring a chorus of crowd voices, “Bottoms Up” captures the lively atmosphere of a pub where music, laughter, and conversation flow freely. The track showcases fiddle by Oliver Bates Craven (Sierra Ferrell) alongside mandolin, tenor guitar, acoustic guitar, and the pulse of traditional bodhrán percussion. King and Sieling lend background vocals — joined by a playful cameo from Pillsbury the dog — adding an extra layer of charm and authenticity. Driven by a foot-stomping rhythm and timeless storytelling, “Bottoms Up” is a spirited celebration of community, music, and shared moments.
King shares, “‘Bottoms Up’ is pure fun. I wanted to write a classic drinking song that feels timeless, like it could’ve been sung decades ago or written last week. It’s a love letter to the Irish pub whether it be in New York or Ireland itself: the dog in the corner, the turf fire burning, and the cold pint in your hand.”

For King, this song runs deeper than a casual drink with friends. “For me, the pub is at the heart of my Irish-American culture,” King adds. “It’s not just about a great pint — it’s about the craic, the conversation, the music, the food, and the comfort of walking into a place where you’re never alone.”
King’s connection to her heritage runs deep in her music. Born into a musical family, she first stepped onstage at just three years old and later performed in pubs across New York and Ireland, where her raw, heartfelt songwriting found its natural home. Summers spent in Counties Leitrim and Westmeath further nurtured her love of Irish music and storytelling, traditions that continue to resonate throughout her work today.
Her journey to Nashville has been defined by resilience. After a life altering accident in 2020 left her partially paralyzed, music became her anchor. Determined to reclaim her dream, King worked to regain her strength, completed law school, and ultimately recommitted to pursuing music full time.
Today, King is carving out her place in Nashville’s songwriting community, diving into co-writing sessions with a wide range of collaborators, all while continuing to draw inspiration from her Irish roots and personal experiences. Her music reflects both the joy and hardship of her journey, delivering songs grounded in perseverance and honesty.
With “Bottoms Up,” King invites listeners into the world that shaped her: a place where music fills the room, laughter echoes across the bar, and strangers quickly become friends.
