SAM FOSTER
RELEASES DEBUT EIGHT-TRACK ALBUM
MILLION MILES TO MIDNIGHT
TODAY, JUNE 26
NASHVILLE, TN (June 26, 2026) — Today, Nashville-based singer-songwriter, producer, and Berklee College of Music graduate Sam Foster releases his debut album, Million Miles to Midnight. Written solely by Foster and co-produced with Owen Korzec, the eight-track collection serves as both a coming-of-age story and a reflection on the people, places, and personal disasters that shaped his early twenties. As Foster puts it, “I spin personal misfortune into universal appeal on ‘Million Miles to Midnight,’ dealing with plenty of mayhem and magic along the way.”

Blending acoustic textures with modern production, Foster has developed a songwriting style built around concept-first narratives and emotional clarity. Entirely autobiographical, the cinematic indie-pop record pieces together what Foster describes as a mosaic of misadventures — heartbreaks, crushes, and roommates-turned-enemies — unified by a spirit of “rugged optimism,” a glass-half-full mentality that refuses to disappear even in life’s most absurd circumstances.
Foster explains, “‘Million Miles to Midnight’ is an album born out of a complete and total shift of my worldview on its axis. In the span of a few years, I went from a life ruled by anxiety and depression to one filled with whimsy and magic. This album traces that shift in perspective and reflects the lessons I picked up along the way.”
Across the project, he reframes the emotional chaos of early adulthood into a cohesive narrative of reflection, growth, and optimism. Songs like “Wisdom Teeth” (April 11, 2025) and “Tattoo Removal” (February 27) showcase his gift for turning deeply personal experiences into universally relatable stories, while the title track serves as both a destination and a declaration, documenting the distance traveled between who he was and who he has become.
Album standout “MIDNIGHT GIRL” exemplifies Foster’s concept-driven creative process. What began as a stripped-down idea was ultimately rebuilt into a layered, cinematic production, with expanded drums, samples, and strings designed to mirror the emotional intensity of the relationship it depicts. “It was an attempt to capture how all-consuming that relationship felt for me when I wrote the song,” he shares.

“The events of my early to mid-20s forced me to deal with the sad, anxious person I’d become and move towards something brighter,” he admits. “It feels like I’m finally engaging with the subject matter as something in the past tense. The transformation that led to the album is complete.”
More than a debut album, Million Miles to Midnight stands as both a personal milestone and the closing of one chapter before the next begins. Through vivid storytelling, memorable melodies, and a spirit of hard-earned optimism, Foster reframes life’s most difficult moments as meaningful chapters in a larger story, offering a glimpse into his creative path ahead and a renewed sense of hope for listeners navigating their own.
