NASHVILLE, TN (July 17, 2026) — Today, Melbourne-based roots and Americana band FINN — led by brothers Mark and Luke Finn — return with “Still Believe,” a stirring new single about perseverance and hope, offering one final glimpse into their forthcoming tenth studio album, Control, due out Friday, August 7. Recorded at Woodstock Studios in Melbourne, the album was produced and engineered by Terry Hart, with mastering by GRAMMY-winning engineer Gavin Lurssen at Lurssen Mastering in Burbank, CA.
“‘Still Believe’ is a song for when the compass is broken and the road signs don’t seem to point anywhere true.” Mark and Luke share. “It’s about relationships, but it’s also about the world outside the window — uncertain, restless, and hard to read — and the simple act of carrying on when the answers don’t come easy. Somewhere in the confusion, you keep walking, you keep holding on, and you still believe.”

Marked as their tenth studio album, Control continues the band’s tradition of blending acoustic textures, layered harmonies, and restrained arrangements that allow the emotional core of each song to take center stage. The project represents the band’s most focused work yet — 11 carefully crafted songs exploring memory, faith, uncertainty, and human connection.

Released singles such as “Control,” “River Running Through,” and “Oh Mary” offered listeners an early glimpse into the album’s warm, organic sound and reflective songwriting. The lead single and title track, “Control,” pairs buoyant organ, guitars, and banjo with an undercurrent of tension, capturing the search for stability in an unpredictable world, while “River Running Through” best spotlights the band’s longtime lineup and collaborative musicianship. “Oh Mary” shifts toward a quieter meditation on devotion and the lasting impact of human connection. Americana UK highlighted “Oh Mary,” describing it as “a gently chugging, low-key reaffirmation of dedication, eschewing the big gestures” in favor of a more meaningful, everyday commitment rooted in the promise: “I’ve been looking for you and I won’t let you down.”

The album features a stellar lineup of collaborators, including Mark Finn (vocals and guitars), Luke Finn (vocals and guitars), Terry Hart (multi-instrumentalist), Jeremy Staples (bass), Daniel Angelini (drums), Mike Hart (backing vocals), Shane Reilly (mandolin), and Chris Commerford (guitars).
“The record is about learning to live with uncertainty,” the band explains. “The songs explore friendships, loss, faith and the quiet resilience that keeps people moving forward even when the path isn’t clear. At its heart, it’s an album about connection and the belief that the people we hold onto can still give meaning to the journey.”
Their most recent full-length project, The Waterfall (2024), an ambitious eighteen-song collection, showcases the full breadth of the band’s musical palette. Where that album explored the wide scope of their sound, Control turns inward, distilling their approach into something more focused and reflective. “After ten albums you start to understand what you really are,” FINN reflects. “‘The Waterfall’ explored the full width of what we could do. ‘Control’ goes deeper.”
Across their career, FINN have blended folk, Americana, blues, rock, and melodic pop into a cohesive style defined by thoughtful songwriting, rich vocal harmonies, and understated arrangements. Drawing on classic roots traditions while maintaining a voice entirely their own, the band continues to refine a sound that is both timeless and distinctive.
