Blue Sky Studios Announces Public Launch in Historic Former Watershed Studios
NASHVILLE’S NEW BOUTIQUE RECORDING & PRODUCTION STUDIO BLUE SKY STUDIOS
ANNOUNCES ITS PUBLIC LAUNCH
CONTINUING THE LEGACY OF THE FORMER WATERSHED STUDIOS
Built for Today’s Artists, Songwriters, and Creators While Honoring Music City Tradition
NASHVILLE, TN (June 9, 2026) — Blue Sky Studios, a boutique recording and production studio located in Hermitage, TN, just outside Nashville, is officially announcing its public launch following a quiet opening in December 2025. Founded by Eric Petrone (Co-Founder & Creative Director) and Myles Mancuso (Co-Founder, Producer & Engineer), the studio operates inside the former Watershed Studios — a historic Nashville recording space connected to sessions involving legendary artists including Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert. Blending the timeless spirit of classic Nashville recording culture with a modern creative environment, Blue Sky Studios was built for today’s artists, songwriters, producers, and multimedia creators while honoring the deep musical legacy of the room itself.
Since its soft opening, Blue Sky Studios has already welcomed some of Nashville’s most respected musicians, producers, and songwriters, quickly establishing itself as a premier boutique recording environment. Recent sessions have included Brent Mason, Billy Thomas, Scotty Sanders, and Mark and Wanda Burchfield, adding another chapter to the building’s evolving musical legacy. Inside the studio, artists have access to an extensive collection of premium recording equipment and instruments, including Chandler, API, and Neve preamps; Telefunken, Neumann, Beyerdynamic, and AKG microphones; Martin, Gretsch, Fender, and Gibson guitars and basses; Fender, Marshall, and Dumble-style amplifiers; and multiple DW drum and snare configurations designed to accommodate a wide range of sounds and production styles. In addition to traditional recording sessions, the studio has grown into a versatile creative hub for songwriting, scoring, production, and multimedia content creation.
Blue Sky Studios feels less like a modern recording facility and more like a living continuation of Music City’s creative lineage. Inside the walls of the former Watershed Studios, the studio’s founders are building something that bridges the old soul of Nashville with a new generation of artists and creators.
The building’s history was never something they wanted to erase, rather it became part of the foundation they chose to build upon. Rather than stripping away its character, they embraced it, preserving the vintage warmth, analog soul, and timeless authenticity that have long defined classic recording culture. Today, those elements coexist with modern production capabilities tailored to the demands of an evolving creative industry.
“Blue Sky Studios was built to honor the legacy of great music creation while creating something new for the next generation of artists,” Petrone says. “To be able to continue that story inside the former Watershed Studios, where legends like Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert once recorded, means a tremendous amount to us personally and creatively.”
Together, the founders share a vision of preserving the spirit of timeless music creation while building a forward-thinking studio environment where artists can create meaningful, enduring work. For Mancuso, the goal was never simply to open another recording studio in Nashville. It was to create a space that artists feel the moment they walk in — a room that inspires performance, collaboration, and honesty.
“Blue Sky Studios represents more than just a recording space,” Mancuso says. “It’s a place where musicians, songwriters, and creators can feel inspired the moment they walk through the door. We wanted to preserve the soul and history of this building while bringing world-class production, musicianship, and creative energy into a modern era.”
That balance — heritage without nostalgia, innovation without losing humanity — defines Blue Sky Studios: part creative sanctuary, part modern production house, and part love letter to the timeless spirit of Nashville music-making.
