NASHVILLE, TN (August 27, 2025) — Today, acclaimed husband-and-wife duo Alyssa & Wayne Brewer unveil “Tattletale Eyes,” the sophomore single from their forthcoming album Lonesome & Blue, set to release Friday, September 12 in honor of what would have been George Jones’s 94th birthday. This reimagined version pays deep reverence to its original debut as a George & Tammy B-side in August 1976, capturing the spirit of country music’s golden era while blending nostalgia with a sound uniquely their own.

The track is accompanied by a vintage-style performance compilation music video that captures the timeless, nostalgic stage presence they embody. Alyssa and Wayne share, “This is one of our favorites on the record and we’ve been performing and gathering footage of this song over the last year for its music video. All the video clips were captured live on tour in theatres & performing arts centers around the US from Los Angeles to NYC to Florida and everything in between.”

On Lonesome & Blue, Alyssa & Wayne breathe fresh life into the lost art of duet singing. A follow-up to their acclaimed debut Alyssa and Wayne Sing George and Tammy — praised by PEOPLE Magazine in 2023 for its “own brand of magic” — Lonesome & Blue continues their sincere homage to George Jones and Tammy Wynette. Seasoned music critic Robert Oermann, from MusicRow, spotlighted the duo, saying: “It takes courage to take on the repertoire made immortal by two of the greatest singers in country music history, but the Brewers are impressively up to the task. Both of them have pitch-perfect vocal chops and can match their Hall of Fame forebears lick for lick. Frankly, I was blown away.”

Wayne shares, “This album is about capturing the heart of an era that the songs came from and authentically delivering it in a way that feels alive today.” Alyssa adds, “This record is for the fans who grew up in that golden era, and for the younger generation just now discovering its magic. What you hear on this album is exactly what you’ll get at our live shows — a timeless connection, not just nostalgia. After shows, folks are asking if we have any recorded versions of these songs, and now we do!”

The 10-track collection features legendary steel guitarist Tom Killen, a longtime member of Jones’ “The Jones Boys.” The title track and lead single, “Lonesome & Blue,” (released July 30), marks Alyssa and Wayne’s debut original song. Praised by outlets including The Bluegrass Situation and Cowgirl Magazine,  “Lonesome & Blue,” depicts a slow-burning fantasy where Wayne as “Lonesome,” and Alyssa “Blue,” chase for something just out of reach. 

Wayne shares, “The video for ‘Lonesome & Blue’ is my favorite one we’ve created. The crew was incredible, and watching scenes evolve on set made the process feel organic. Alyssa’s idea for the fantasy scenes added depth, and smashing a guitar for the finale was a wild one-take moment. Fun fact: the motel had actual guests — we’re still not sure if anyone heard the smash!”

Wayne Brewer, a sixth-generation musician renowned for his work with Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers, and Alyssa tied the knot in 2015. Wayne shares that recording a duet album has been a dream since they started dating, which led to the release of Alyssa and Wayne Sing George and Tammy on September 15, 2023 — their first heartfelt tribute to the legendary country duo. The album became both a passion project and a reflection of their own journey as partners in music and in life.
